Lieberman, an ex-Democratic senator and former candidate for vice president who changed his affiliation to Independent, had been considered a frontrunner for the post, The New York Times reported.
And shortly before leaving on his current foreign trip, Trump said he was "very close" to selecting someone to fill the position that became vacant when he fired Comey.
But, according to the Times, Trump's staff had urged him to take more time in making the decision.
And now Trump has decided he want a broader range of candidates for the post, CNN reported.
Trump is retaining the services of lawyer Marc Kasowitz to help navigate the investigations into his campaign, The Washington Post reported.

Lieberman is a gun-grabber. No way should he be FBI director.
Mark Levin (I don’t like him much either) but come on guys, the capital hill fight would be one for the ages. When Republicans inevitably cave he can have something else to yell about for the next decade. I’d also pick him for SCOTUS for what it’s worth.
Why was he ever considered in the first place? He’s soooo not a right fit for that job.

They keep asking us to believe that Trump’s staff leaks to outlets that hate him: the Times, WaPo, Politico, etc. Either by ‘staff,’ they mean, ‘the janitor,’ or it’s not happening.

If Himmler has a great grandson I would recommend they give him serious consideration.
Trump is going to think long and hard about who he picks. He needs a no nonsense and effective FBI Director who will go after all the crimes committed by the many creatures who think they are untouchable crawling around DC.
