Huey Pierce Long Jr. He had his short comings both politically and socially but folks still love him down here. Louisiana was a very poor corrupt third world country run by an oligarchy but Huey tried to changed all that. In his short period as a Governor and senator he was the man behind building the state up both economically and infra structurally. The poor whites and blacks loved him.
He was gunned down in 1935. You can still see the bullet marks at the capital to his day.
