I have no trouble with hunting for food but so called “trophy” hunting is just disgusting. I know the old excuse of it provides money for their preservation but I wonder how much money actually goes for that instead of in some pockets of local officials....

Abortion is actually a GOOD thing. The abortionist and nurses and other employees at the death camps need jobs. Spend their paychecks in the community.

A few dead babies, that no one wanted anyway, help those employees raise their “wanted” children. Not to mention the trickle down to other families with children that benefit from death camp workers spending their paychecks at the grocery store and Gimme Coffee. SARC

If they were not there at all (big game hunting other than elephants), they would not have disturbed the elephants and the hunter would not be DEAD.

Trophy hunting has no place in this world.

Since all accounts identify this group of elephant cows as a “breeding group”, did this accursed moron leave an elephant calf an orphan? If so, are rangers caring for it? I have NO sympathy for this piece of amoral excrement, he got what he deserved, but the poor elephant had to pay for her protective instincts with her life.

I have had an affinity for the big creatures since childhood. Admire them immensely. Regret the declining numbers. Confine them to national parks and they are hunted/poached to extinction. Let them exist in game farms and they are hunted but the stock is maintained by landowners to ensure his (owners) continued revenue.

No different than ranchers in this country. Last I looked the cattle stocks are pretty constant.

So for long term survival let them be hunted on private lands where a profit is possible or see them extinct. And ensure trained guides that only permit the most humane of kills with the threat of large fines/imprisonment for improper conduct.

I have toured African game farms and sense they do a decent job of herd management—but I am no expert in the matter.

noobie.... noobie? Not really, I've ruffled some feathers in the past (snowflakes have been around a long time) but I'm trying to behave myself this time. It's hard sometimes.

Glad you enjoy my humor.

God’s amazing creatures, fashioned by His love.......

"To prey on each other and ultimately die hungry as a meal for another animal once it no longer possesses the strength to prey on it's neighbors!

How 'bout that God, huh?"

__________________________________________________________________ God originally created all creatures, including man to live forever as plant eaters. We are now in the age of the fall, caused by man's sin. Considering all of eternity to come, the time of the fall is a very extremely short amount of time.

Soon Jesus is coming back to rule on earth. This will be a time of great peace for all creatures. Once again many men will rebel at the end of 1,000 years. Then Christ will for the last time deal with sinful men.

After this there will be a new earth and a new heaven. It will be more wonderful than we can imagine. Things will go back to the time of the garden of Eden, only much, much better.

Even now, often animals live their lives fairly contented and die quick deaths when they no longer are strong.

God is merciful. Jesus Christ paid the price to redeem His creation back to Himself by dying on the cross and paying the horrible price of man's sin.

Get a good recipe for dumplings.....lol.....I understand where you’re coming from and perhaps in my rage over killing the elephants I forget that some little varmints can threaten one’s lively hood and need to be dealt with.

I agree high end luxury hunting not only inflicts misery and suffering on these majestic creatures it also increases the demand for expensive imported goods, displacing more affordable local goods without adequate involvement of communities, and actually lowers the relative standard of living of most of the people in the area. Not to mention fueling black market demand and government corruption among a myriad of other evils.

Not sure what your post has to do with hunting elephants unless you’re equating the life of an elephant to a human baby...

Animal control kills thousands per year, in each of several reserves and countries.

I am having a hard time finding sympathy for the fate of this gentleman.

Sure, but only to maintain the sporting-ness of it. If the animals never win, it’s less of an accomplishment.

Slowly being eaten alive is rather most animals’ lot in life. Being shot is far more merciful.

Do elephant hunters eat the meat, or kill to protect their farms...their loved ones?

______________

The local villages eat the elephants when they are killed. Prized bush meat.
