...use still images of people and turn them into FAKE video - and even put words in their mouths
Daily Mail ^

While these systems currently focus on changing the shape of the mouth, Alex Champandard, the co-founder of creative.ai which makes AI tools for artists, says these tools will also be able to change facial expressions and posture in the future.

He says that soon, people will have trouble figuring out which videos are fake and which are real.

Already, given enough time, experts can create fake videos that look realistic.

This is because AI tools are making the process rapid and simple, so much so that eventually, almost anyone could make these videos too.

This could render video evidence unreliable in court cases and could mean that courts will rely more on forensic, scientific evidence and witness testimonies in cases.

About a year ago I saw a TV program where they limited amounts of this with photographs of Lincoln. It wasn’t perfect, but it was close enough to be eerie.

Maybe a good time to buy a franchise for polaroid camera and big fat pencils with a Big Chief tablet?

The one save is knowing a subject’s character. You’ll have to study someone really well—more than just recognizing physical mannerisms and vocal tics—and apply them convincingly to a fake video to get people to believe it.

This is the dream of many a journalist. The New York Times and Washington Post will probably order one for their entire staff.

This process was probably used to recreate the performances of Peter Cushing and Carrie Fisher in Rogue One. Tarkin looked good enough, spending most of his time in a darkened room, but Leia looked like a oil painting.

Years ago I read a sci-fi book that talked about this. The answer was a class of specially trained memory experts who were considered infallible.

Amazing, little-known video footage discovered from “Ronald Reagan”:

“Deep down in my heart, I know that private gun confiscation is really the answer to America’s crime problem. I just don’t know how I can convince other conservatives of this..Oh! And we really need to open all the borders, permanently..”

John Wayne:

“By far my best role is one that has gone completely unnoticed; that as a gay man parading around s straight. There’s nothing I love more down here in Los Angeles than pulling over to the rest stop and meeting the first willing, randy gentleman that drives by. Women are just playing icky. And, ya know? GUNS ARE SCARY..!”

#10 Leia/Carrie Fisher was a bad fake in a big budget movie. They really blew it when that fake showed up in the movie.

As I mentioned, Leia looked artificial. This might be effective in ‘recreating’ old footage, where poor resolution in the original would hide any glitches in the CGI.

In the beginning of “Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Kurt Russell was a younger self thanks to cgi. It was done right vs the cartoon of Leia.
