Technically Belarus is not part of Russia anymore but there has to be "In Russia" jokes somewhere.

Are they suggesting she should have slammed on the brakes still hitting the car and hurting a lot of passengers?
God. I hate the media.

I remember the video of the Russian guy driving his car when the big meteor brightly flashed in the sky. He pulled down the sun visor and kept driving - totally unmoved by what could have been a nuclear explosion.
I guess these people have seen so much awfulness in their lives that what would be a traumatic event for us is just ho-hum to them.

How does the “journalist” know the driver is “poker faced” when you never see her face in the video?
Does the “journalist” think the driver should panic and freak out, or instead remain calm and professional as she brings the tram safely to a stop after an incident over which she had no control?

Probably a simple reflex action: it happens so often she’s knows just what to do.
...and that’s really scary.

She does "flinch". She sees the car, and then she applies the brakes with her left hand. There's no way she could have stopped the train before hitting the car. The train stops just after the crossing
Plus, she is high above the car and outweighs it 20 to 1. No other response would have made sense. Perhaps people think she should stand up and run to the rear screaming? Nope. She did exactly what was called for. One cool customer she is.

Many from around here (south) misjudge the speed of the Chicago commuter trains and get creamed. They're used to those slow freight trains that poke along.
He said the rails are a part of it. The fast moving trains are running on what he called "high iron" and that is a peed factor.
Alll I know is the commuter trains really zoom...except if you are on one and about to be late for work.

Nonsense article. Were they expecting her to flail her arms and dance around in circles in the cab? She saw a collision was inevitable and her duty was to remain in control of the train and bring it to a safe stop. There’s no way you can stop a train for a car on the tracks unless you see it like a mile away. This is why people in cars are idiots for even trying to beat a train across an intersection.
