NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans began the process of taking down Confederate statutes early Monday with the removal of the monument to the Battle at Liberty Place. The city became the latest Southern body to divorce itself from what some say are symbols of racism and intolerance but which opponents say are historic.

The New Orleans City Council voted to remove four Statutes/Memorials back in 2015.
The people elected the Council.
I would urge you to read post #15 and contemplate that for a moment. These terrorists aren’t applying logic, reason, or a sense of proportionality to this denial of our history.

I bought my “Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia” in NOLA in 1975 from a Black guy who owned the company.
With your ‘logic’ we should remove all monuments to Washington, Jefferson and most of the founders. Certainly all of our history up until 1865 is ‘tainted’. Going even further we should also view as suspect most history up until the 1965 ‘civil rights’ act and for that matter even up until today. Trump and his supporters are ‘racist’.
Our friends who live there have expressed their outrage, but it is falling on deaf ears. We visit that city 2-3 x year....no more.
You are right. The people who never did for this country are probably the ones who want to remove it’s history, and the illegal new comers.

Taking a page from the Nazi Party playbook and its totalitarian quest of cultural cleansing, today the Democrat Socialist Party in New Orleans is removing four Confederate monuments from public view.
In this updated version from the 1930’s, American blacks residing on the Democrat Socialist plantation represent the new German victims, and the defenders of historical facts and Southern Heritage represent the new Jews.
In order to sanitize and erase cultural history to satisfy its “victims,” simply expropriate all of the structures, imagery and factual references connected to it. Liberal academic “historians” have already accomplished the latter.
The real problem is that most people are either too stupid or too illiterate to recognize what’s going on right under their noses. The South remains anathema to the Democrat Socialist Party, and they’re still trying to “Reconstruct” us.
Oh, and be sure to thank the “Educrats,” who are committed to teaching our children what they ideologically want them to believe, rather than what they factually need to know.
otoh, let’s run with this and wave it in their faces...all French symbols, street names and monuments to be removed and all Spanish symbols, street names and monuments to be removed since both France and Spain engaged in caste-systems and trafficked in slaves, which ‘no longer reflect the culture and values’ of America.
