Bloomberg to world leaders: Ignore Trump on climate

New York billionaire Michael Bloomberg urged world leaders not to follow President Donald Trump’s lead on climate change and declared his intention to help save an international agreement to reduce carbon emissions.

Bloomberg, who considered a presidential bid after serving three terms as New York City’s mayor, addressed his intensifying focus on climate change in an interview with The Associated Press. He said there was no political motive tied to last week’s release of his new book, “Climate of Hope: How Cities, Businesses, and Citizens Can Save the Planet,” co-authored by former Sierra Club executive director Carl Pope.

“I’m not running for office,” the 75-year-old Bloomberg said.

Instead of helping to re-ignite his political career, he said the new book offered a specific policy objective: To help save an international agreement, negotiated in Paris, to reduce global carbon emissions. …

“Climate Change” is a scheme to help the business and banking elites that Bloomberg represents.

They use the very real but misguided emotions of those who care about the environment and sucker them into supporting taxation in the name of saving the planet.

Its the same scam politicians have played with cigarettes.

“Carbon Taxes” become a way to make the little folks pay up for energy use so the government coffers can be filled without big business having to pay higher taxes.

Meanwhile, the big business interests get their “carbon credits” and energy use by virtue of their size and ‘importance to the economy’ as ‘job providers’.

I grew up in New York city and this lisping jackass made me leave, I couldn’t take it anymore. As if the leftists weren’t bad enough, along came nanny state Bloomberg. Every Monday he would issue a new decree on what was banned which was usually anything and everything. It was like living in North Korea but with food, everything revolved around “The Dear Leader” Bloomberg. Every parade he was front and center, every New Years HE must lower the ball, not some kid who had cancer or whose father was a cop who died in the line of duty or a vet, it was always about “The Dear Leader” who knows better than any of us what is good for us. The guy was a piece of sh*t, he basically went all out using the cities agencies to steal as much of your money as possible, turning city inspectors into shakedown artists, fining hot dog stands $1000 bucks for not producing their license fast enough or fining a newsstand tens of thousands of dollars for selling lighters that looked like tiny guns.

Oh wow, just out of curiosity I did a search to see it that story was still on the net, it is!

http://nypost.com/2013/05/02/smoking-gun-nets-60g-fine/

Why fine the guy $60,000? Why not just tell him to get rid of it? This was par for the course during Bloombergs reign or terror. I knew a guy who owned a small deli in Woodside Queens who was forced out of business because every month the Bloomberg brownshirts would come in and fine the crap out of him for the most ridiculous reasons: Cash register display not a certain height, cigarettes not displayed properly, cash refund sign not affixed properly, just on and on and on, thousands of dollars in fines.

How many books did he sell besides the ones he bought with his own money? I doubt Bloom-Turd has a large group of supporters. I'm sure he has the best money could buy but that's not a lot.

Hey Broombug,

The planet can take care of itself.

Go back to the micro-management work you’re good at, Broombug. Make yourself useful. Contact the UN and get them to regulate the size of plastic bottles around the world. See how far that gets you.

In the meantime, Trump has more important things to do like stopping North Korea from dropping a bomb on people indiscriminately — even those who buy their soda in Broombug-approved small bottles.

For those who have not seen it yet, Mark Steyn's speech on Global Warming (and against Michael Moore) is a real hoot in 30 minutes.

Thank you for standing up for the political liberty and Free Speech rights of people with whom we radically disagree -- like Mayor Bloomberg. I object strongly to his climate policy position, but he has a right to hold it, to advocate for it, and to use his wealth and influence to mobilize political forces in support of it.

Which I hate, but he's within his rights.

You seem to be one of those eccentric characters who takes the Constitution seriously.

":^D

I appreciate that.

With all due respect, nobody is trying to stop Bloomberg from speaking. Notwithstanding, words that incite can indeed be aid and comfort to the USA’s enemies, and words can and do convict one at the law.

"With all due respect, nobody is trying to stop Bloomberg from speaking."

Saying, as some have, that he ought to be prosecuted for treason, is kinda like trying to stop him, don't you think?

No, not at all. If the impetus of his words do incite the enemies of the USA to action, then that falls under the “aid and comfort” clause of Article 3 Section 3. There is no freedom from consequences.

Ah! I get it: hate speech! Hate speech is not protected by the First Amendment!p> The last time I saw this reasoning, it was from Antifa. Catchy, isn't it?

Total control over the world and its resources is not enough for these psychopaths - they have to utterly destroy their potential middle class opposition, too.

There was a Sierra Club guy on Tucker a while ago advocating for Illegal Immigration.

I guess Hordes of people trampling over the Southwest Desert leaving tons of Garbage, Human Excrement and threatening the areas Flora and Fauna on their way to The Promised Land is not a problem for the Environmentally Responsible Sierra Club. I'll even bet The Sierra Club hates the Second Amendment just like Bloomie does.

No, not “hate speech”, which is legislation on thought rather than action and not in the Constitution. I do not doubt that you have read Article 3 Section 3, so I don’t want to come off as patronizing by quoting its first sentence.
Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying war against them or adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.
Again, nobody is trying to shut Bloomberg up. However, if others act against the USA on his words, he does still have to answer for that as if issuing an order to action or suchlike.
