Putting aside the issue of whether ‘off the shoulder’ is proper attire for the Oval Office, I love old lace - tablecloths, doilies, whatever. I crochet doilies myself (love the challenge of intricate patterns), but most of the larger “lace” pieces out there for sale at flea markets, etc. are machine made & are a cheap buy.
Anyway, it’s become popular to re-purpose these old lace items & I think Sarah’s “tableshirts” will sell out in a hurry. I knew I had a pattern for a fairly simple lace ‘topper’ somewhere, using a tablecloth - here it is for anyone who is interested:

A lot of people are very creative and re-purpose old doilies into nice looking dreamcatchers. I love to see old linens made into new things.
