They just quit working after awhile, you may be able to buy and industrial model for multiple hundreds of dollars but I’ve found any thing below about $150 has the same life span and I had a really cheap no name router that lasted longer that the “quality” brands.
Personally, I would throw away the one not working right and buy one with the features you need with the cheapest price without worrying about brand.
Make sure you reset the password on the new one when setting it up.
Good luck.
I had one just like yours.
I put a light timer on it so it would reboot every early AM when I slept. I did update the firmware too.
Then, I did finally break down and upgrade for more than $200, This was when the dual band 2.4/5G ones were just coming out.
It was probably $100 more than I needed to spend,
with what I do there was no apparent difference, except I got rid of the timer.
My my point is don’t overspend and get the least expensive 2.4-5G router you can find. I like ASUS.
The one I have is about $150 now.
Hard to believe. I could go back to reading a map, keeping a flashlight handy and carrying a camera, but I can’t go back to Reader’s Digest in the can.
Bump.....
We were having this problem and bought a new router. The problem was not resolved. So we started calling our internet provider service agent every time we lost our signal Soon it stopped.
are you sure that it’s dying?
