A man was airlifted to a Los Angeles hospital after two pit bulls attacked him and his Jack Russell terrier on Santa Catalina Island.

The victim... he had taken a boat trip out to Catalina with his dog, Josh. He said the two were strolling on the pier when two 11-year-old pit bulls went after his dog. When he attempted to protect Josh, the pit bulls came after him, ripping out a piece of his calf and biting both his arms, he said. Avalon Harbor Patrol officers eventually pulled the dogs off of him. Brady was airlifted to UCLA Harbor Medical Center.

Brady told CBS2 he will have to undergo numerous surgeries. Meanwhile, Josh underwent surgery Thursday for a gash under his leg. He is expected to make a full recovery.
“My dog is alive, and I put my body over him because he’s my best friend in the world,” Brady said.

The pit bulls did not know any better. They were just turning their lives around and were looking to teach Sunday school.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the pit bulls are owned by a woman who lives on a boat in Avalon. She agreed to have both of them euthanized, deputies said.
Are those harbor patrol officers unarmed? Some doge DO need killing, those two in particular.
My wife and I, our Yorkie, and a doodle mux were attacked by a pit bull variant last October.
Owner weaseled out of paying $1300 damages cuz “dog wasn’t his” cuz he is divorced & dig was at ex-wife’s house, even though 6 times on tape he called it “my dog.”

Lots of folks live on boats out there.
Most of them are not the types of people you’d want to lend money to.(Just my opinion)

I have a 12 1/2 year old Jack Russell, I won’t bother mentioning what would happen if they attacked my little guy.
Luv dogs but, can’t stand Pit Bulls.
When I walk my dog I always carry a knife, because other owners are pretty careless with their dogs.
I would go medieval on any animal that attacked my dog, starting with their throat. Actually, I think that last part qualifies as jihadi but, whatever...
Haven’t been to Catalina in forever but, they have boat people there as well, that are as nutty as the ones in Emeryville/Berkley harbor?
I always carry a knife out of habit because of the sports i’m involved in, I send every carry knife I have to Cutco with friends to have the blades double d’d serrated and I can assure you they would go thru those dogs like a hot knife thru butter. I don’t give a damn I don’t trust Pits for 2 seconds.

LOL! if you’re going to step up to the plate make sure you’re prepared to get the job done right! Mine looks a lot like yours but it’s a Cutco.
Oh, it does the job.
I have used them on so many things. They keep an edge very well too.
