Putting a bucket over the snake can be dangerous because youre within the strike range, its better to throw the towel from a small distance to keep you out of that range.
Cats will often chase a snake and because their teeth are sharp and cylinder shaped they will bite and the wound will close up but because of the bacteria in a cats mouth which can be quite dangerous for the snakes health.

Had a snake visit my Straw Bale garden the other night...left some old skin....
The water isn’t even safe... The box jellyfish is common off shore.... The size of your fingernail... yet it can kill you...

How long have you been using straw bales and how do you like it?
I’ve been looking at it but unsure.
Looks like a place for unwanted critters to move in.
The snake is ok as long as I do not have to deal with him.
Had a compost pile over the winter and something moved in??
The dogs found it very interesting, I would rather avoid that issue?
I can identify 3 species of non-poisonous snakes. All others are dead.
