But going to see her speak there isn’t worth it. Is it fair? No.
But ALL of us know of a neighborhood that we don’t want to walk through at 4am. That’s not fair either.
We won the election but that area’s police either don’t care or are being completely held back from doing anything.

Fair or not, someone walking around MLK Street near City Hall, University Avenue, near the Bart Station on Shattuck or on Telegraph Road anywhere near People’s Park, anywhere on UCB Campus, you are a Marked Man. I know enough about where not to go during such times. Wasn’t always this way.
Take camera pictures of the police sitting around. Post on youtube until it is censored.
Any decent citizen who wishes to attend will not be protected by the police. The police will simply stand down and look the other way.
The mayor and the chief of police should be held personally responsible if any one is injured do to police inaction.
