This is an idea that is long over due. As for Washington. My side of the state is already a half hour ahead of Seattle in the earths rotation. So what's another half? ;-)

Year-round DST was referred to as “War Time” during WWI and WWII.

Would also help explain why so many heavy industry and assembly plants were constructed with glass walls during those times.

I like the extra hour in the evening.

You don't have an "extra hour in the evening." You get up one hour earlier.

Please feel free to continue to do so, but kindly leave the rest of us alone.

Interesting tid-bit.

The NHL eliminated “overtime” for regular season games that ended in ties after 60 minutes of play. Since the games were played mainly at night, the League wanted fans to be able to get home at a decent hour so they could perform at their war time jobs next day.

Who cares if it’s dark in the morning.

One of the many excuses was farm workers, but farm workers don’t care, they go to work when the sun rises. Then they said it conserves energy, but it doesn’t. When you get right down to it the only reason DST exists is to remind you who’s boss. The government says “change your clock” you change your clock.

Without daylight savings, climate change will happen one hour sooner, the end of the world one hour sooner and just do it for the children.

That extra hour of sunlight is contributing to global warming!

Daylight savings makes it darker in the morning.

During the Carter-years it was expaned with the argument that ‘we are saving energy’.

With these long hot Texas summer days, should’nt we want the sun to go down? In July and August it doesn’t get dark until 9:00 PM. Doesn’t make sense.

Any child walking to school north of the California/Oregon border is walking in the dark in the winter anyway! For some (ie Alaskans), it’s dark BOTH to and from school!

That whole premise is the definition of a red herring.

“It’s fo’ da CHILLUNS!”

Split the difference. Spring forward 30 minutes and be done with it.

The cats have more time to do stuff, too. I’m up late trying to get them in the summer.
