There's a fan theory that in order to explain the 55+ year history of the character and the 7, 8 or 9 (depending on how you count) actors that have played the role, that "James Bond" is a code name used by whomever occupies the 007 slot in MI6. So, that "James Bond" is handed down through the years over and over again.
It's not part of the cannon as they've never done it in a book or movie but it would be fun to see them do something like that in the future. Looking at it like that, a black guy could be Bond, as long as he we a Brit.

I predict the black bond movie will bomb at which point the left will call racism. People become invested in movie franchises and expect the characters to fit a certain mold. This will go over as well as the female Thor or the teenaged iron man in the comics.

I know many people think that. I just don’t get it.
No, he isn’t. Connery played Bond when all that was action in the script was not serious. It was not until Craig that there was any kind of real tension in the films.

I mean, for goodness sake, it took me a while to get over the fact that Daniel Craig didn't have the black hair. If it wasn't for the fact that he absolutely nailed the characterization of Bond in the books (something that really hadn't been seen since Connery in Dr. No), I was just about to write him off.
If you've ever wondered how Bond is truly portrayed in the books -- Skyfall is the film. Craig absolutely embodied the Bond tenacity and self-doubt from the books.
In the books, Bond wasn't some cocky bloke who always had the answer. His inner thoughts were filled with doubts about whether he would succeed or not. The tenacity, the 'never give up', the keep pressing forward until you succeed, that's what Bond was about. In Skyfall, Craig straddled that line to absolute perfection.
Absolutely right.
Elba is amazing in “ Luther.” Women adore him. The guy is very manly & smooth, could definitely see him in this role.
Caitlyn Jenner is playing Mammy.
David Spade is playing Kunte Kinte in the Roots reboot.

This PC nonsense needs to stop. I enjoy Elba as an actor. He is very good. BUT he is a black man. James Bond, the character, is a white man.
