I’m not a fan either, but I like a crepe and a burrito. Syrup? Yuck. Msybe a nice natural jam. But...I would rather have some type of gravy or roux.

Buy better syrup. Really that’s why they exist, to absorb butter and syrup. The better your syrup the more you like em.
