I do the same thing when I find a centipede. No quarter, no chance. Luckily, no snakes here, but had more than a few close calls in SoCal. I hate snakes like they were liberals.
Centipedes scare me more than rattlesnakes. At least rattlesnakes warn you when you are too close and try to avoid you. Not centipedes, they’ll crawl right in bed with you. I’ve had that happen twice.

I had a black lab who just hated snakes. He would come home with his eyes swollen shut and his head as big as a basketball. The vet would give him a shot and a week later he would be right back at it again. He lived to age fourteen. He would leave them dead on the front porch as his trophies.
