Not to be picky in a friendly way, times two, I say it was a mini barrel roll. . .he raised the nose, maintained 1-G the entire time—which means the jet was in a barrel roll, a small one for sure.
You see, with the slow roll rate of the jet, if he did just an aileron roll they would have gone zero-G during the manuever and the nose would have buried itself at the ground. But since he maintained one-G the entire time, this means he did a barrel roll.
Regardless, an impressive maneuver in such an aircraft. Cheers. . .

Apparently, you have never taken a flight out of John Wayne Airport in Orange County, CA.

Hai - the way I was shown (yep, know about the G thing) was my instructor put a quarter on a surface an he put the point of a pencil in the center of the coin and rotated it; this he said was an aileron roll. Then holding the coin in the middle with his finger took the pencil and ran it around the outside of the coin. This he said was a barrel roll.

I hear you. I had a similar experience back in the early 1990s. On final approach, maybe even what would qualify as short-final, the pilot pulled up sharply, sucked in the gear and flaps while fire-walling the engines. We were only about 1/3 full of pax, and at the end of the flight had burned off most of the fuel. It was a max performance climb-out that was eye opening.
Pilot came on as we were turning to re-enter the downwind leg - some screw up (he wasn't too specific in naming names or assigning blame) had resulted in another aircraft turning out onto the runway right in front of us and starting it's takeoff roll. We nearly came down right on top of it.
Only close-call or "incident" I've been a part of in 30+ years...

#53 Was Harrison Ford flying that helicopter? : )

LOL on the Harrison Ford. To be fair to him though, I understand he has done some awesome volunteer support to his local emergency responders and CAP for many years.
For this experience of mine though, the helicopter was military and probably AF or NG.

I saw two F 4 Phantoms of the Kentucky Air National Guard take off together at the Louisville airport. The Guard is across the airport from the civilian terminals. They got airborne, pointed the noses up, and hit the after burners. Rattled the windows of the airport. Way Cool!

An empty air liner with not much fuel on board can climb at incredible rate.

What’s scary is on take off when the skipper pulls back power because of f-ing noise abatement procedures. That is BS and dangerous crap right there. I paid full fare I WANT FULL POWER ON TAKE OFF!
