I grew up on KSHE and White Castle. We had funny names for all the food.

The corner of Bell and Northern boulevards in Bayside (Queens County) NY, marks the spot where one of the first enamel-steel prefabricated White Castle outlets was well-established by 1933. My parents used to go here on dates.

My mother used to tell stories about going to White Castle as a kid (a long, long time ago).I recall her having spoken of hamburgers the size of quarters...and she'd laugh as she said it.
Driving down the New England Thruway into the Bronx I see a White Castle among all the auto body shops...I think it's the only one I've ever seen.

Ha ha! Produced by a company from Missouri, which is the place that I had my first and last and only White Castle gut bomber burgers, ever. Blegggghhh

Man, that’s funny!
White Castle is Da Bomb out in my birthplace of
Columbus, Ohio. None within 3 hrs. drive of my
current home though.
I would have thought KSHE was an all-Feminist talk station.

Once and never more. Or was it a Krystal? Whatever it was it was the only place open late at night after pulling my rig over for the day. Forgettable and I don’t understand the hype about White Castles. I see boxed White Castles sold in the frozen food section at Walmart for the depraved connoiseurs. If it wasn’t acceptable when fresh what would make it even better after being frozen? Stupid question, sorry.

Whenever I visit my family in Detroit, I get so excited and ask them to ‘Take me to the nearest White Castle!”. They all roll their eyes and shake their heads. I can’t help it. Those itty-bitty burgers are good, and there is nothing out here in California that comes close for a comparable price. In & Out Burgers is the best burger on this side of the country.
We could also use a few more Dairy Queens, the bigger ones, with a drive up window. I don’t like going to what looks like a Dairy Queen over in Berkeley on University Ave. too many shabbily dressed,
ne-ver do well Youts congregating and loitering outside the building waiting to beg for ‘a quarter’. Who gives a guarter these days? You know they really mean ‘a dollar (or two)’.

Burgers I've eaten,
Buy 'em by the sack...

I remember having White Castle hamburgers when we visited some of my father’s relatives in New Jersey when I was fourteen. I loved them. :)

My father was a college classmate with the son of the owner. He visited their house several times. They had their own miniature White Castle in their home.
