I’m looking foreward to celebrating National Puppy day with my 3 year old Border Collie.
Even though she’s three years old She’s very much a puppy.
When I get home she’ll be sitting at the door waiting for me.
I’m glad someone mentioned Rescue. Don’t want to start any controversy here, but please think Rescue when contemplating a Dog, never buy.....too many Dogs need to be rescued right now.
Well, if you want a dog with all type of neurosis...be my guest. I respect your opinion, however our experience has been quite different. :)
OTOH, the Lab Rescue people we met are all hoarders. Lab hoarders. That's our experience.
It depends on why and what you want a dog to do.

A valid point I’m sure. I have heard of small “rescue” groups that are a disaster. My message is really more geared toward those who see a cute puppy in a mall “pet store”, supplied by the worst of breeders, and spend hundreds of dollars for a sick dog, and support the continuation of the worst of the puppy mills. For those people, I wish they would instead go to a large, reputable shelter and rescue a deserving dog. Thank you for your point though, I agree, many of these self described “rescues” are awful.
Well, in spite of desiring a certain *breed* of working dog; I’ll always say, the smartest, best tempered dog I ever had, was a rescued mutt. He had some GS in him.
As you say, it can go both ways. :)
