Why Baptists Should Support Muslims Right to Build Mosques
Given the shift in American demographics, it might not be long before the Baptists are once again a powerless minority. And this time, it might be Muslims before whom they are pleading for soul freedom.

With this logic, Baptists should let pimps build brothels.
Then, bye and bye, build some Mosques.
If my statements are illogical, I plead Baptist logic.
Really can’t make sense of any of it.
This lifelong Baptist disagrees with the author and notices that he based his appeal on history and human reasoning, not Scripture. Perhaps that is because no where in the New Testament is it suggested that Christians should support cultists or false gods in any way. In fact, it says quite the opposite:
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?” 2 Corinthians 6:14-15
As a Baptist I also know the Scriptures declare man’s will is in bondage to sin. That understanding was at the heart of the Reformation.
Guillotines, too, so they’ll see the Christian love that keeps them from getting all tuckered out when they cut of the heads of a batch of women and children
Wasn’t the National Review funded early on by the CIA?
Yeah,
Well i have a mosque near me that a neighbor goes to.
A mooselimb, mass murderer went to said mosque for spiritual guidence.
I want this near by?
Not were it my choice.
The US citizens can build mosques.
But no new Muslim immigrants.
Fairly straight forward.
WTH!?!? Ok, perhaps when every Muslim country allows churches, then we can allow mosques. Until then, forget it!
No. If you are a shia or sunni muslim then you support replacing all governments in all countries with sharia law. That makes you by definition a traitor to the US constitution.
Which means your evil ass needs to be booted out of the country. At an absolute minimum.
I am a Soutern Baptist and I say over my dead body. I will not give any credence to a cult that has a tenant that I should be beheaded and that the reward for the animal who does it will be 72 virgins.
In other words, this argument is, “Submit to the present evil, lest a greater one befall you. Phaedrus
I grieve for the old magazine, as for Wm. F. Buckley Jr.
Both so brilliant, and both long gone now.
A little thing called the First Amendment.
Unlike Baptists, however, mosques unfortunately need special scrutiny.
So to reiterate – Islam is not a religion because:
Therefore, I believe it would be wise to reconsider Islam’s inclusion as a religion at least as far as the First Amendment is concerned. I understand the difficulties with this approach, and I know many have and will reject it, but I also think it is necessary to raise the question about what Islam really is and what it isn’t.
When you consider the effort that went into arguing whether Pluto should be considered a planet or not, or how a newly discovered insect should be classified, or what constitutes organic produce, I really don’t think the ability to classify belief systems is beyond us. At the very least we must call into question this Islam-is-a-religion trump card that its defenders have been playing so successfully. And I think it could help remove the confusion in our own ranks and allow Islam to be criticized in its entirety, not just as a political or judicial system.
We cannot fight a lie of this magnitude with half the truth.
Thank you. "
This Baptist will not support the muslims right to build mosques in the United States of America. This Baptists the right of every muslim to be deported to their Countries of Origin. Read their book[s]
Amen! to all you wrote.
This is very typical reasoning from the mainstream denominations, exclude the Bible as your basis. An extension of this are home studies/Bible studies centered on “Virtuous Minds” or “The Purpose Driven Life.”
Aren’t there examples in the Old Testament of God vehemently denouncing rival religions? I don’t wish to copy and paste a stream of passages. But any casual reader of the Scriptures knows it is true.
In the NT how did the apostles John and Paul respond to the Gnostic faiths? YET, this guy can parade his tolerance before us all and bask in the plaudits of the NeverTrumpers.
You say that like it is some force of nature.
stupid stupid (or sold out?) NR!
the more Moslems get into USA, the quicker Moslems will burn down your churches (with you inside)
Read Deuteronomy 13:1-12.
There you find His opinion on other religions.
