My dad was the head of his fraternity at a large midwestern campus. He decided that he was going to bag the most beautiful woman in campus and he did, a 6ft statuesque blonde stunner who was the head of her sorority and could have been mistaken for Grace Kelly’s sister.

His family was rich so they married, only to discover that they had nothing in common and had a nasty divorce.

I suppose I can’t complain because otherwise I wouldn’t be here.

In a way, they each could have just been doing "what was expected" of people in those roles, and then ran into reality and wondered why it didn't work out "as expected".

Life's a funny thing. Expectations or not, sometimes it can take a few tries for a person to learn enough to finally get it right.

And life is tricky, too. The grass may look greener on the other side, but it still needs to be mowed.

The greener the grass, the greater the maintenance. It's always something...
