Our late, great Golden Retriever, Prior Lake Jake, developed a cataract on one eye back when we lived in Minnesota. Our local vet informed us we were in luck, there was a dog ophthalmologist located in, naturally, Edina. Jake spent the weekend at the doc's kennel and came home with a new eye lens, the hair around his eye shaved down to the skin and wearing a large lampshade around his neck to protect the surgery.
