FBI Director Comey may be an honorable man. When he states: "With respect to the President's tweets about alleged wiretapping directed at him by the prior administration, I have no information that supports those tweets. And we have looked carefully inside the FBI."
Second: Director, you save testified that "we have looked carefully inside the FBI". Can you attest that there has been no external surveillence from outside of the FBI?

This is a definitional game. Depends on what the definition of is is.
I agree with your premise that Comey is wording his remarks very carefully, so as to cover up something that he definitely knows, but is not explicitly “0bama wiretapped Trump”.
Why would anyone look inside the FBI unless it is a red herring?
Think it through....Comey and the FBI were in deep trouble with Obama and Hillary during the election. Dems were calling for Obama to fire him.
If Obama or the dems were going to wiretap Trump it would not be this agency doing it and everyone in these hearings know it. This is Kabuki theater, misdirection trying to get Americans not believe Trump.
The way I heard it was that Comey states there was no surveillance THAT WENT THROUGH THE PROPER, LEGAL CHANNELS. So, if the current POTUS is able to find some proof (and with the power of the position he now holds that isn’t at all improbable) where does that leave us???
No confidence in Comey or intelligence community. Start back at least from the beginning of Bill Clinton Administration. And the Intelligence community has done nothing but let America down.The Federal Government is run by The Democrat Party and unions and it is obvious by the leaks Trump cannot trust them. I suggest any conservatives that wish for Trump to clean the Swamp be prepared to fight. OUR government has been subverted by the Democrat Party. I BELIVE there will be blood she’d before it is over. It truly scares me where we are headed. Take a good look also at our so called Judicial System.

What double standard?
TRUMP WAS BRILLIANT by making the accusation in the first place. The intelligence agencies are in lock down and I would expect them to be cleaning house.
Comey is a lawyer and knows how to answer the question that is asked truthfully. He also knows what his job is.
Not one of the Comey-haters has an iota of proof that he is corrupt or anything else. I trust that Trump and Sessions who have access to a great deal of information that is not publicly known are playing their hand correctly, including Director Comey’s role in these matters.
This hearing was destined to be a nothingburger, just like they all are. What counts much more is the investigative work that is ongoing and what may eventually happen before a grand jury, and no on commenting on this thread has any clue as to what that is.

Unfortunately Sessions is not involved in these investigations.
He has recused himself of any investigation touching the campaign.
He was stupid to do it, so Comey is running this show now
There is as much to be learned from what he didn’t say; perhaps, more than from what he actually said.
