Introduced them in class while teaching school. Then, told the students they were black. They couldn’t believe it. lol
WOW! that’s a stretch back into time. From the movie “Two Girls and a Sailor” - two favorites: Van Johnson and June Alyson. Great song and harmony. Mother had an old 78 RPM - the record was played till smooth.
Thanks for the reintroduction :0

Love it.
My favorite by the Mills Brothers was “Cab Driver”
Great. I love all of their fantastic harmonies. Has anyone else here scene the Jack Benny Show episode where he hired two (of the 4) Mills Brothers to keep costs down?
Thanks for the links!
How Funny! Still watch the old Jack Benny shows from time to time. Local OTA will also have Burns and Allen shows on as well. TV ‘stars’ and plots from the early days are still favored over the trash seen today.
In 1942, the instrumentalists went on strike and refused to make recordings until the strike was settled in 1944. But this didn’t bother the Mills Brothers, because they only used a guitar and could imitate the sounds of any instruments they needed to use.
In early 1968, that got a lot of airplay on KWIZ, at 1480 kcs on the AM dial, my favorite radio station at the time.
My favorite Mills Brothers song is Goodbye Blues. The only instrument used on this recording is a guitar. All the other instrument sounds are made vocally.

"..And mountains that we must climb"--with names like Monte Cassino, Riva Ridge and Surabachi
Thanks for that link.
