It seemed a little early to condemn NFL teams for freezing out Colin Kaepernick. Barely a week had gone by in free agency. With one exception albeit a grotesque, borderline-obscene one not many quarterbacks had been coming off of the market. Bleacher Reports Friday story on how front-office types still want nothing to do with him for his protests during the national anthem shined another light on it.

“He can still play at a high level,” one AFC general manager said. “The problem is three things are happening with him.”””

Should have read....”He can still play at a high SCHOOL level,”
.
As much of a left wing loon as the current commissioner is, some team in trouble with the league will soon get “the call” and the little snowflake will be playing again - even if it is only for a while.
It is a team game. He singled himself out from his teammates and got a few others to do it. Owners want team players.
Actions have consequences.
‘Feel good story’
Blackballed? There’s a joke in there somewhere.
Where was Steele in the Tebow days?
It’s more than just Kaepernick’s controversial political stance. Kaepernick’s skills have substantially eroded since Jim Harbaugh left to be head coach at the University of Michigan.
The decision is entirely money related. It has nothing to do with Kaepernick's salary, it has to do with lost revenue coming in because he is on the team.
Its about maintaining the status quo, or what NFL teams believe that to be. It's about not ruffling feathers, or at least the feathers NFL teams care about ruffling.
Well, yeah. Why should a business adopt a pet cause of one player just to see what happens to their income?
Meanwhile, those who said the rich, entitled jock really wasnt sacrificing anything with his kneeling must be aware by now exactly what he sacrificed. Until someone proves it wrong, he has sacrificed his NFL career.
Oh well, it was his to sacrifice. No matter how much celebrities think they are irreplaceable and people love them, they are only loved until the next year's model comes out to attract their attention. The fact that most celebrities never learn this until it is too late is unfortunate, but that is their choice.
Maybe the Browns should pick him up. They have a reputation of late for finishing off quarterbacks. :)
Although I think that the Cleveland fans themselves would run this guy off the field.
Where was Steele ...
It looks like he went out for lunch at an all you can eat buffet
Kaepernick has done nothing lately on the field to warrant the interest this race-obsessed writer seems to believe. And his sideline antics and comments certainly don't help his cause.
Perhaps when the other QBs shake out, some desperate owner(s) may direct their attention to any scraps left, i.e, Colin Kaepernick. Until then, Kaepernick, his agent, and this writer need to STFU!
Nobody worried about that when the knell-down was for prayer - and he had won a play-off game the year before.

Proving a negative is a particularly difficult task
Blackballed?
How about being solely responsible for crashing NFL ratings through the floor? Isn’t the NFL about entertainment and earning money for a franchise?
If a player as polarizing as this guy has made his brand toxic, whose fault is that?
If he said “I’m going to do as I want and kneel when I want”, at least he could stand or fall on principle. As it is he sure looks opportunistic.
First, if anyone should be blackballed, it’s Colin Kaepernick. He cost the league a billion dollars.
But second, don’t you have to be desirable to be blackballed? I’m sure Disney doesn’t like my politics, but that’s not why I don’t work there as a screenwriter. I don’t work there as a screenwriter, because I have no demonstrated talent as a screenwriter.
Kapernick went down in history as one of the worst quarterbacks ever to throw a football in an NFL game.
“Prove he’s not”
And there is no comments section.
Wasn't Kaepernick on the bubble before last season, and the 49ers fans had to live with management's mistake of keeping him?
