The sleeping spell would have been enough, anyways.

And just for the record, the Brothers Grimm weren’t the original authors of the tale (if anything, Perrault was, and there was no rape at all in that version. In Perrault’s version, the prince was just lucky enough to find the princess when the spell wore off). So technically, the Brothers Grimm if anything utterly bastardized (pardon the language) the original fairy tale by making it a lot more depraved. And the Disney version was if anything based on the Perrault versions, NOT the Grimm versions, and Perrault tends to keep things family friendly for the most part. Snow White was, however, originally written by the Brothers Grimm, and my point still stands there, especially when there’s no real reason to have Snow White nearly used as a literal trophy wife. What moral lesson does THAT teach anyways?

Let me ask you something as a closing, since we’ve gotten that out of the way. Let’s ignore the bit about changing dark stories into “saccharine crap.” What would you feel if you changed stories that originally WERE saccharine and made them into cynical nihilistic works that were just downright depressing and left no real message besides “the world is crap”? If I were you, I’d hate it just as much. And quite frankly, that means you should hate the Brothers Grimm for ruining that in the opposite direction just as much as you hate Disney for ruining them by making them saccharine, because that’s being consistent and non-hypocritical.

Yeah I get your point
15 years of watching Paul Lynde on Hollywood Squares just about turned me gay and I didn’t even know it
And then when he was Uncle Arthur in Bewitched and Templeton the Rat in Charlottes Web I felt such an urge for same sex experimentation
Or wait
Maybe I just thought he was a funny snarky character
Like La Fou
And don’t even get me started on those lispy characters from Rowan and Martins Laugh- In , Tiny Tim tiptoeing through the Tulips and Pee Wee’s Playhouse
Hollywood has been grooming me for over 40 years and now I have survived yet another assault on my hetero ism

I thought the two faggots danced with each other, plus one sat in the other’s lap.

As swishy as Paul Lynde was, he never acted out sexually with another person of the same sex, either as a game show participant, as an animated rat, or as Uncle Arthur.

Even Disney has included a lot of sexually questionable characters in their stories, like Scar the antagonist lion in Lion King.

This instance is on another level.

sheesh- have you seen the movie? Or just read the CONSERVATIVE propaganda? (and yes I am a conservative!)

I went there LOOKING for acting out and couldn’t find it!
It was a character (actually 2) with subtle expressions and comments- just like typical gay character humor has been used for decades!

There was a 1 second glance between 2 men dancing with women in the dance scene in the last minute of the movie - the audience laughed. That was the gayest moment of the movie

Well, if that is all.

Just read a commentary by Scott Lively. He points out that the “gay” characters usually turn out to be the VILLAINS in these movies. They certainly seem to.

In this one La Fou was betrayed by Gaston and left to die under a talking wardrobe

So he helped to save the Beast and lived to dance at Beauty’s wedding

With a woman

But on the dance floor he did exchange a meaningful glance with another guy

Which surely turned a lot of kids gay

To be fair, they aren't trying to turn a lot of kids "gay." They are trying to turn them into advocates. A lot easier to do that.
