And why did it take so damn long to come to this conclusion?
Would take me all of five minutes.

Wow. Took them long enough to get this sorted.
Kind of scary, when you think about it.

I saw the headline and thought “man, our Navy is getting good at that stealth technology!”
To: MtnClimber
That will make you think twice about saving a cop.
To: MtnClimber
It took long enough, but I’m glad he stepped up and saved that Officer’s life!!!

This done while the LEO was pleading, “Shoot him, shoot him.”
Personally, I would not have dropped the firearm to the ground, but would have set it down on the pavement.
But, the good Samaritan was black and I’ll bet he didn’t want to be holding a gun if another LEO drove up and saw a LEO on the ground.

I wonder what it cost him in legal fees?

Black, white, it doesn’t matter. When police roll up on a shooting, don’t create any unnecessary confusion.

There was a time in Harris County, Texas (Houston) when the DA would give medals and commendations for assisting an officer down.

Shooter who saved the cop shot 3x at the suspect. All 3 struck the suspect.

I wonder that too. The perp's family is probably suing him right now.

Probably wiped out the guy's life savings paying the lawyers and that's with a good outcome. You darned right it makes you think twic about getting involved.
I will not involve myself in situations that don't threaten me or mine. Others are free to disagree and say that I'm a coward or something if they like. I don't really give a damn what people think.

My guess is they told him that day that there would be no charges, but they waited to make it look like there was an extra thorough investigation before clearing publicly announcing it.

For his sake, I certainly hope so.

Because the DAs are all emulating the Orlando DA, and refuse to let a brother off the plantation.
