Michelle had a job at U of C Hosputal making around $300k per year. She seems to have been the primary bread winner.
Barack had royalties from his books, but did that amount to millions?
When they lived in Chicago, they didn't have to pay much, if anything for Lab School ( which their kids went to ), because of that AFFIRMATIVE ACTION no show job he had at the U of C, which Lab is connected to. That, alone, saved them $60,000 per year.
They also had a private chef, who did the marketing and cooking for the family. THAT DOESN'T COME CHEAP!
The Mooch was also known to shop at pricey boutiques on Oak Street, where clothes are mainly from European designers.
And his tax returns, when he showed them, when he began his presidency proves my claim. Also, I used to live in Chicago...so know these things and more.
In December 1971 when his great grandfathers (Charles Rolo Payne) estate was settled his grandmother became his legal guardian. She was promoted VP in charge of escrow and Trust at bank Barack was enrolled in expensive school. Family moved into a penthouse. (The family trust is still listed as income schedule E of taxes. )
Gramps wasn’t just a bookkeeper. He received one tenth of one percent of the profit of each lease he wrote on mineral rights in Kansas and
Oklahoma. The Stanley D and Stanley A wells on the family property is still producing. The company Gramps wrote leases for now owns controlling interests on Solyndra.
In other words Obama has been a millionaire since age ten. The purpose IMO of him writing a book about his AFrican heritage was to keep people from looking at his wealthy Kansas ancestors
As I recall, the US Government [a/k/a our taxes] bought a large quantity of Obama’s books to redistribute in the Middle East through US embassies.
