I pay for Hulu and Netflix, but we also watch about 20 free channels.

Try YouTube and also free Pluto on Roku. Pluto is like its own cable service for free. YouTube is just endless entertainment.

Depending on where you live, your local networks will offer a Roku channel for live news. This is big for local weather and traffic.

My other recommendation is buy a ChromeCast. Allows you to take anything from a computer or phone and display it on your TV. Very clean solution for sports.

MLB has a season ticket for games over the radio for all out of market teams. You can listen via ChromeCast over TV. Your local MLB team will be broadcast via radio, which can be streamed over internet, and again cast to TV.

NHL has its own channel on Roku.

Have seen a few movies worth watching on B-movie TV. Bizarre and Shockwerk, American Horror we’ve not added as yet,perhaps we should if only to see what they offer. Too many times a channel is added with movies of bloody gore, absolutely no plot, that the viewer becomes so disgusted the channel is removed post haste. The beginning of the movie “Gods of Egypt” was seen this weekend, after the first 15 minutes, moved on to another channel. Many movies made today have left me by the wayside. Prefer more subdued movies from years gone by: The Thin Man, Charlie Chan, Sherlock Holmes. These are more my cup of tea.

I have the Klowd TV app put out by OANN, which also has Newsmax, Blaze (yeah, I know, Beck is nuts, but still better than CNN or MSNBC), and a few other channels and music channels. Thank you for that list.

Since we got Roku cable TV is like a buggy whip in the dice household.
Believe it or not, you don’t miss the stupid sitcoms and laugh tracks, blaring commercials and illiterate millionaires tossing balls back and forth.

Firestick too. If you appreciate Mystery Science Theater you can get free shows and stream them on your TV from your device.
Unfortunately for me,I am the only one in my household who is a MST fan.

Thanks! As I *age* I want to find all the cheapest yet reliable ways to stay connected. And also the easiest to use! I have a tendency to get easily frustrated - and that is going to get worse as I get older, LOL.

I keep remembering that my dad had to have my son come over just to plug his antennae into the back of the TV for him. I hope to be able to do such things for myself. (My husband is kinda hopeless)

Roku also has Youtube on it.

Surprisingly, I've found that YouTube is my 'go to' channel for just about everything that interests me (mostly documentaries and science programs).

Before we cut the cable and got Roku, television was a wasteland with few offerings that I cared for.

We've saved at least $70 per month, since switching, and will never go back to cable.

You might want to consider adding a multi channel router so you don’t have computers on same network as Roku.

I had no idea you could do that. I'm going to look into it, as I've got five computers in my house, all doing something online throughout the day.

I personally have found nothing at all useful on any channel on my Roku TV.

There are tens of thousands of programs uploaded to YouTube. Use the search function on the YouTube channel to find programs that interest you.

I wish I'd known about Roku back then. I would have saved at least $8,000 dollars in cable payments by now.

Been on Roku for about three years now, so we've saved at least a couple grand, so I shouldn't complain.
