Here’s Pence this morning; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hRewEwunSw
Okay.
“Republicans are useless, as they try to preserve FDR’s legacy of Arbitrary government and all that is built on it ... just slow down its growth a bit ... rarely really reversing growth already sprawled, kinda like a brakeman on an engineless train sliding backwards down a hill. They are like a race horse that frequently stumbles, sometimes before crossing the finish line, sometimes at the gate’s opening. The only good thing about Republicans is that they aren’t Democrats in that they will turn on their own and they do occasionally trot in the right direction between stumbles.”
It’s not healthcare, it’s health insurance, and it’s marginally better than what it replaces. As long as the public demands something “free” from the government, we’ll have monstrosities like this.
Ah buhlieve yew mean ‘wretched’.
That’s why we’re in the state we are. We didn’t realize that Republicans were not our friends yet we supported them. Let us not make that mistake again.
Does it exempt Congressturds from being subject to its provisions?
Ryan does not serve at the President’s pleasure.
"We" who, paleface? I knew it about halfway into Jorge Busho's first term.
Trump just wants the win and the healthcare box checked off.
Pass whatever and he’ll sign it. He wants it out of the way to get to the tax cuts.
Ryan is using this opportunity to cement Obamacare in place with a name change. Once they pass something, the GOP owns it.
The eunuchs of the Uniparty are attendants of Fedzilla, they will never try to take away the power that Obamacare gives Fedzilla.
I don’t play chess and keep wondering the same!
And why keep Comey as FBI big cheese?
These ponderings are one reason I’m not in politics; sometimes I can see the endgame, big picture etc, but other times I am absolutely clueless!
And Trump is always ahead of the game, and has different strategies he uses depending upon WHO or WHAT he is dealing with....
Pence said their healthcare bill/plan has three parts or stages (can’t recall his exact words)...would that be to WRITE a pile of dung, PASS the pile of dung and then have Trump VETO said pile?
Or maybe Trump is giving Mr Ryan a lot of rope so he’ll have more than enough to hang himself and all the other giant boils come voting season?
I have no idea and like you, need a tour guide for this safari!
If it includes preexisting conditions it's not insurance, it's wealth-redistribution disguised as insurance.
I have the same question....and also I have heard illegals still can get covered.
Umm... It’s a piece of cr@p because it came out of that anus Paul Ryan?
They want it to fail to pass, so they can say ‘We tried!’ and ObozoCare remains intact.............
That’s the big secret buried in the bill. Illegal aliens were barred from Obamacare and Ryancare weakens the requirements so they can get in.
If Ryan wishes to blow a whole lot of political capital pushing that, well, have fun Mr. Ryan. I sincerely doubt it'll get anywhere near Trump's desk for signature.
The solution to this mess won't come from some staffer's drawer of ‘next best ideas’, it'll come from people sitting down and actually identifying where the problems are, what affordable options are available, and how to actually deliver those affordable options.
That, alas, will take Trump's full attention to put together and get rolling, as apparently the 535 other elected federal representatives can't seem to find their buttocks without a staff report.
Single payer with a private option.
To make a long story short, Obamacare (and Romneycare before it) happened for a reason. That reason was the enormous and highly productive medical-industrial complex that was brought into being by Medicare's central feature - the promise to pay, without limit, for ANYTHING that was POSSIBLY useful or beneficial to those covered.
The Democrats, having no understanding of capitalism, took the money spent by those >65 between 1954 and 1963 on health care (not much), added an inflation factor, subtracted excess administrative costs associated with Blue Cross, and promised spending of $8 billion/year after 25 years of the program.
Actual spending was 100X that. Why?
Because, prior to Medicare, there was no incentive to invest in implantable defibrillators, MRI machines, eye surgery infrastructure, artificial joints, dialysis, and many, many other "miracles" if the market for those things was confined to seniors who could pay, in cash, OR whose families could be persuaded to pony up, let's say, $60 000 for an implantable auto-sensing device that might never be needed.
Once the market was expanded to EVERY SINGLE SENIOR, and the amount to be paid by the taxpayers was WITHOUT LIMIT, then investment, research, and development became not only sensible but an almost guaranteed formula for huge profits.
By 1986, Congress could not pass a budget with an accurate, or even close to accurate, line item for Medicare. Almost all of Medicare since 1986 has been paid for by borrowing money, or printing it.
The voters didn't and don't understand this, but the politicians sure do. The looming collapse of the money and financial systems concentrated their minds brilliantly. What they created was socialism funded by funny money, with rivers of cash flowing through insurance companies. (where some of it tended to adhere). By 2006 or so, Mitt Romney (who couldn't print money in Massachusetts) recognized that the status quo had to be ended, but ended in a way consistent with elected officials not being hanged from lampposts.
Hence Romneycare, the prototype for Obamacare.
