Expectations were high for Brock in Houston, and he needed more seasoning. He'll get plenty of that in Cleveland.
To be told they’ve just been traded to either Ohio NFL team, a QB must feel like he’s about to be served his last meal.
Send the mash unit. Will cowflops get anything in return?.
“From what I understand, the #Browns are weighing simply releasing Brock Osweiler after trading for him. NBA style”
Wouldn’t it be funny if the Broncos then sign him to a minimum contract then go on and win another Super Bowl.
Deshaun Watson might be the happiest man in America today.
LOL, so Deshaun isn't out of the woods, yet.
Nope. Everything coming from NFL insiders is the Browns will trade him or just cut him a la NBA style.
AFC South plays the NFC West this year. Only way Cowboys and Texans are playing is the pre-season or Superbowl.
Not sure if this is a joke
BREAKING: Brock Osweiler retires
http://sportspickle.com/news/breaking-brock-osweiler-retires.html
CLEVELAND New Cleveland Browns quarterback Brock Osweiler has announced his retirement, ending his career at age 26 and with more than $50 million remaining on his contract.
After careful thought and consideration in the several moments after I was informed I was traded to the Browns, I have decided I will move on with the rest of my life, Osweiler posted in a series of tweets. We only have so much time on this planet, and I dont want to spend any of the years I have on the Cleveland Browns, no matter how much I am being paid. Money is not everything. Thank you to the Browns for wanting me when no one else did, but no.
It was a great trade for the Browns. They get a second-round pick just to take Osweiler’s contract and they have the salary cap space to do it.
It has reached the point where I feel sorry for any player traded to the Browns, whatever the salary. Their career will never recover.
The schedule was released months ago and they don’t play this year. They play each other every four years in the regular season.
Houston and Dallas could play in next year’s Super Bowl. Wouldn’t THAT be something.
Will Cleveland EVER make a good decision about quarterbacks?
They’ve got that moneyball guy in there now. One of the first things he did was start trading down to stockpile picks. Of course then they started last season with 5 injured QBs in 5 games so we don’t know how that’s working for them yet, but in theory they’ve got the picks to build a team.
This is actually a VERY good decision. They’re getting a pick to take him AND will get picks and/ or players to get rid of him. They might have to eat most of that 16 million for a year, but with the current cap that’s nothing, especially given how many draft picks they’ve got, they’re going to have a young cheap team, that might need that 16 million just to hit the minimum salary.
Probably preseason for sure. Tony won’t play. He’s too fragile for preseason
