Taubes'"The Case Against Sugar" lumps "real sugar" (sucrose) and HFCS together under the general heading of "sugar."
Taubes claims there is no difference between the two regarding their bad effects. He puts together a pretty compelling case for the link between sugar and diabetes. That said, I don't think another tax is the answer.
I don't agree with Taubes' assertion that sugar is so bad that it has caused humans to change by evolutionary means in only a few hundred years. That's just crazy.
