Nowheres near the number of piers in Manhattan as there once were. Closing the piers would have been a waste of resources. You don’t have to close the piers when you control the waterways.


OK, but it still takes resources. And you are going to stop outgoing boat traffic for what reason?

It could happen, but stopping people from *leaving* a disaster, in perfectly good private transportation? Why?

Sure, could happen, but seems unlikely.

I do not recall any shut down of boats leaving New Orleans when the Hurricane hit, for example.

New York is a different culture. I would expect people with boats there to be well heeled.

If the PTB wanted to, they could very easily. West 79 st. Marina, East 23 st. marina and Battery Park marina are it.

You said they couldn’t shut the city down for hours or days. I’ve proven they can very quickly.

Look FRiend, I’ll listen to you when it comes to guns and gun laws, but Fun City just ain’t your bag.
