FULL TITLE: Statue of defiant little girl is placed in front of Wall Street's Charging Bull to challenge 'male environment' ahead of International Women's Day
A statue of a defiant little girl was placed in front of Wall Street's Charging Bull to challenge the 'traditionally male environment' of the industry, ahead of International Women's Day.
A brave bronzed girl was installed with her hands on her hips, head held high as she faced off against the hulking statue of a bull on Tuesday morning.
It was placed by $2.5trillion asset manager State Street Global as part of a campaign the company is launching to increase gender diversity in Wall Street's 'traditionally male environment'.
The Fearless Girl is a symbol of the firm's hope for women to become recognized leaders in the field, symbolic of International Women's Day, where women are encouraged to be bold, walk out of work and not spend money on Wednesday.

She’s not on strike today?
The little girl should be astride the bull if she wants equal power on Wall Street.
In front of the bull she’d be Gored.
Ask a woman whether they prefer an average-paying job with full benefits or a huge paying job with no benefits, and guess which one she'll choose (99 % of them).
Feminism. Isn’t that ADORABLE!
we're supposed to think capitalism is a big bad beast and the little girl stands opposed to it. ya, sure. you betcha.
let's not forget who had the final say in killing 55m+ kids over the passed 45 yrs
no, I always use Laz’s name at these events
I think the artiste ripped off Pippi Longstocking, save for the pony tail.
Those aren’t the women you’re looking for.
If she is stupid enough to short a bull market she is gonna get run over. Welcome to equality.
Best comment I’ve seen elsewhere about this:
“How DARE you *assume* that statues’ gender!”
From the supine to the somniculous.
Looks like a Chicago cop with the checkered cap.
You are correct. Apparently I thought the whole article was about NY.
So you don’t like art?
The bull means a good economy.
the little girl stopping the bull is feminism/socialism destroying the economy
I imagine a lot of frats in the tri-state area using that statue for some hazing!
Or I also hope someone just puts tons of Trump bumper stickers on it as a prank.
