A spokesman for former President Barack Obama strongly denied President Donald Trump's tweeted accusation that his predecessor had his Trump Tower offices wiretapped, while another former Obama official cautioned to be careful while considering the official statement.
"A cardinal rule of the Obama administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice," Obama spokesman Kevin Lewis said in a statement reported on Saturday. "As part of that practice, neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any U.S. citizen. Any suggestion otherwise is simply false."
However, the defense from the former president's camp appears to be mixed. Former speechwriter Jon Favreau warned on Twitter against accepting Lewis' statement as read:

Wait a second: So, Obama wire tapped Trump Tower and you still couldn’t find enough dirt for Hillary to win? SAD!
This will go one of two ways
1) Trump is innocent and backfires against 0bummer thus Trump becomes oneof the best and most supported Presidents behind Reagan.
Or
2) Trump is innocent and 0bummer gets Trump impeached causing massive rioting and civil unrest bringing on The United States 2nd Civil War.

And who was the report given to? All copies. Should be a paper trail unless the records were destroyed.
If he truly finding this out for the first time, he would be livid that his administration was being dragged into this muck.

Now we know what the Russia meme is really about.
It is about covering for a criminal conspiracy by the previous administration that far exceeds anything Nixon did.
So far, EVERYTHING Trump’s enemies have thrown at him has backfired FAILED bigly.

I seriously doubt he requested it. He brilliantly kept a layer around him. But he most assuredly knew about it. He was just smart enough to hire people who didn’t need to be told what to do.
The first Democrat taking point was there was no wiretap; then they said it was approved by a FISA court; then it was first refused by FISA and submitted for only a narrow reason.
This story will unravel, and we'll really see how rotten the Obama administration was. The best part is watching the Obama defense fall apart in tatters.
I read that Obama had new computer systems installed, took the old ones to his house, and did a lot of paper shredding. I hope they were sloppy and left enough for Rudy to pick up.
This was a planned setup by Illary and Barky’s people.
Trump suggested in May that perhaps if the Russians had Illary’s emails they could ask for them.
So the Dark Government goes to work. Sets up the Trump Campaign by setting up Meetings between Campaign Officials and Russian officials. Then applies for a FISC Warrent. IT GETS TURNED DOWN. They then record the meetings and go back to the Court to again ask with the meetings as evidence without mentioning the White House set them up.
In the meantime they fill in Illary’s Camp and their press stoolies to push the story.

The fact that it’s mixed shows that there’s truth to it. Bottom line is that Trump would NEVER tweet this without having rock solid evidence. It explains WHY the left and the media has been trying to push the russian angle so much...they want to use it to justify why they were wiretapping trump for political purposes. They wanted to dig up dirt to use against him in the election.
I am so disgusted in this congress. They are worthless.

I agree. But I have been wondering if it is also part of a coverup. Perhaps the Democrats are neck-deep in criminal dealings with Russia and need a friendly investigator to close the book on them.
We know about the sell of Uranium. What else was sold? What deal was made on Ukraine after the 2012 election when Obama signaled he would have “more flexibility”? Does the multi-billion-dollar sanction reversal for Iran play a part?
I wonder also the extent to which people like Pelosi and Franken were knowingly part of it. And how about McCain and Graham?
Someone fed the questions about Russia to Franken. Did he know about the ruse to justify an illegal wiretap of the opposition-party’s presidential political campaign? Or was he just following orders from his Soros-paid handler?
