I'm female. I know those two movies you mention were well received, but I've never seen them or desire to. My ideas of a good chick flick: Master & Commander, , Sahara, Forbidden Planet, The Princess Bride. None of those films had a female director. What the heck is a "chick flick" anyway? To my mind, if I like it, since I'm a chick, then it's a chick flick. And why would a female director be a better director just because she's female? I could give a rat's hairy hind end about the director's sex/gender/plumbing.
