Bill Nye ‘The Science Guy’ Says ‘Climate Deniers’ Suffer Psychological Delusions

Bill Nye said Monday that climate change skeptics suffer from a psychological problem preventing them from understanding how so-called man-made global warming affects their daily lives.

Climate change skeptics suffer from cognitive dissonance on global warming, a type of psychological disorder that prevents people from recognizing reality, the comedian and former TV show host told Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders during a Facebook Live event.

“To the deniers out there. I want you to think about what is called cognitive dissonance,” Nye said, referring to situations wherein people prefer to bury their head in the sand instead of facing reality. It’s up to environmentalists and everybody else to save skeptics from themselves, he added.

“Instead of accepting that the climate is changing, deniers are denying the evidence and dismissing the authorities” simply because they don’t want to face a harsh reality, Nye said.

The two climate change warriors went on to complain how fossil fuel companies’ unwillingness to change their ways could lead to catastrophe.

This moron Nye can't even get a clear 60-year-old simple concept right...

"In psychology, cognitive dissonance is the mental stress (discomfort) experienced by a person who simultaneously holds two or more contradictory beliefs, or ideas ...'

Their premise doesn't even make sense. I haven't met a single person who "denies" that "climate change exists". The Chicago area has had massive climate change all week and it sucks.

Most likely they really mean "doesn't subscribe to our fear-mongering premise that human activity will cause the earth to explode any day now"

The problem with Bill Nye is he's been bitten by the celebrity bug and now believes all the hype that he's some kind of great scientific authority in this country because he hosted a kid's TV show in the 90s. He's also a "denier" that his own "scientific" opinions are tainted by his personal political ideology and insists he arrives at every statement based on impartial scientific data.

And to be fair, I've seen similar problems with self-appointed "experts" on our side. I consider James Dobson to be the conservative equivalent to Nye. He and his adoring supporters honestly believe he's some kind of all-knowing authority on Christian religious dogma when his "religious" credentials are having a degree in child psychology and hosting a radio show. This guy is a minister like Nye is a scientist. Ditto with all the conservatives who pretended like Mark Levin was the reincarnation of James Madison and an all-knowing Constitutional authority until recently.

“Bill couldn’t even get the definition of cognitive dissonance right.”

Not only that but it is not a “psychological delusion” however that error might be the fault of the headline writer.

Questioning scientific theories is not delusional, but part of the scientific method. Questioning the dogma of the global warming cult is heretical and thus delusional.

Tucker Carlson chopped him to ribbons on FOX last night. He looked to be flustered and at a loss for words when confronted with Tucker’s challenge.

I would say that Big Lie the Pseudoscience Guy has a psychological problem where he denies reality.
