An investigation is under way after reports that a Pakistan International Airlines plane flew from Karachi to Saudi Arabia with people standing in the aisle all the way after staff boarded extra passengers.
The flights captain, Anwar Adil, told Dawn he only learned about the extra passengers after takeoff, by which point it was too late to turn around as this would have meant dumping fuel in order to land safely.

Staff had issued additional handwritten boarding passes, the paper reported.
Think about, PIA flies to USA. And Immigration is done at Pakistani Airport, anything can happen after immigration and before plane door.
I find flying on scheduled airlines today to differ little from being on a big city bus.
Except that on a plane, there is no drooping cord for a passenger to pull down and ring if you want to get off early.

Indeed, the TSA checks and the squeezing is destroying the type of flying that used to be a bit more like a boat cruise, just as much as part of the trip as visiting the tourist destination.
