SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) — Country singer Willie Nelson, the children of the late reggae icon Bob Marley and comedian Whoopi Goldberg are just a few of the growing number of celebrities publicly jumping into the marijuana industry and eyeing the California pot market, which is expected to explode after voters legalized the recreational use of weed.

Regulators are still scrambling to get California’s recreational pot market launched and are racing to issue licenses to growers and sellers by early 2018. Still to be decided is who will receive the first licenses to grow, distribute and sell recreational marijuana.

Growers already cleared to sell medical marijuana in California could be the first in line.

Here’s a fast way to put a lot of those cannabis growers out of business: impose USDA and FDA regulations on growing such plants. A lot of growers would leave the business in no time flat if they have to comply with USDA and FDA regulations.

Just wait until pot smoking slobs are all around you when you are going about your daily business. It won’t seem so conservative then.

Tell me about it. They legalized booze and tobacco in my state and I can't set foot outside my door without a crowd of drunks and cigarette smokers throwing up on me and blowing smoke in my face!

Why oh why did we end prohibition!?!

Sounds perfectly consistent with conservatism to me.

I don’t smell Ripple on a winos breath from across the street. That is unlike the stink of skunk weed that is quite invasive.

Absolutle. And why oh why is heroin prohibited? After all those junkies in my old parking lot that were shooting up with my car mirror should be free to invade my space with the drug of their choice.

People are smoking weed on public streets all over Oakland now. Smell was everywhere I went in downtown Oakland recently. Disgusting.

I hate the smell of that sh!t.

These potheads are deliberatley self-impaired and vulnerable. Next time, just walk up to them, pinch their joint, and stick the burning end of it into one of their eyes until it sizzles. The rest of 'em will lack the werewithal to retaliate agsinst you. :)

Now is the time to set the precedent.

Take the money out of it so the Mexican cartels just leave.

Or “Acapulco Gold”. Hell, they’ve already recorded the radio ad for it.

There's not enough money in legal-but-not-free alcohol to attract criminals to the market - let's do the same with pot.

Exactly what I’m talking about

What you were talking about is how ads for pot business opportunities supposedly don't belong on conservative radio. What you lack the backbone to talk about is how that's any less conservative than running a tavern.

Sucks to find yourself outside the amen corner, doesn't it?

I remember when Air America was still afloat. Advertisers buying cost -per- thousands ads were identical to those on the stations playing right wing talk.
