Allright, Russian Lit class, pop quiz:

In what novel by what writer was it, that some dude sat down in the open window sill of a fourth story (?) window and said that he was going to first drink a bottle of vodka, and not get out of the precarious position he had taken before then? What was his name?

And what was the outcome for him?

(Okay, just kidding... just axing because I honestly don't know; I had seen it referenced in a Philip K. Dick knockoff of Dante's Inferno but not read it my own self.)
