A Welsh Muslim teacher filmed the moment he was made to feel like a 'criminal' when he was hauled off a US-bound flight in front of his students.

Juhel Miah, 25, was due to fly to New York from Reykjavik with students from Llangatwg Comprehensive in Aberdulais, Neath Port Talbot, South Wales, when a US official escorted him off the plane in an 'unjustified act of discrimination'.

The maths teacher - who has a British passport and a valid visa for travel - was not given a reason, but was forced to stay in a 'horrendous' hotel until school officials could book him another flight home. He told the camera: 'Just been off the plane, not going to New York. Everyone else is on the plane.

'I can't believe this is happening. Honestly I feel like a criminal.'

The incident unfolded when Mr Miah was refused permission by the US authorities after being selected for a 'random security check.'

They shorten it from “Mathematics”.

It’s one of their many incorrect ways they destroy the English Language. They think because it’s named after them they can butcher it any way they want. //sarc

Being a maths teacher was enough for proponents of common core to keep him off the plane, that and yw professor thinking proper English is racist, so, no flight do you!

If he has traveled to the no fly countries, he’s also on the list. Post 9/11 Airlines must provide worldwide passenger manifests or they lose USA landing privileges.

I’m digging thru my closet in search of a violin. I hope he has gone to his safe space, and has plenty of crayons, coloring books, and puppies.

The Brits add the “s” to math...like adding the “u” in color or favorite. Maths, colour, favourite.

So, to pronounce these words properly, the "-our" must be pronounced like the word "our."

Thus, they would be pronounced "cuhl-ahr" or "cuhl-ow-er," "fav-ahr-it" or "fav-ow-er-it." I literally do read them that way when I see those extraneous letters that the Brits love to insert into words.

The only people who have an absolute right to enter the US are US citizens.

I hold a passport from a country whose citizens do not need a visa to enter the US and can spend as long as 6 months in the US legally without a visa. That said, I know that I am subject to being turned away at the border for any reason because I am not a US citizen and I do not have an absolute right to enter the US.

What part of this don't people understand?

What part of this don't people understand?

They've had 8 or more years' administrations that turned blind eyes to enforcing the laws on the books.

One grows accustomed to laxity, and comes to believe it's the new normal. Then, when enforcement is restarted, they yell and scream that it's unfair.

Yep, no fly list, they likely were trying to confirm his identity and when confirmed who he was he was ejected.

was due to fly to New York from Reykjavik (...) when a US official escorted him off the plane

What are US officials doing at Reykjavik airport? Does every airport in the world have US officials? What's the basis for authority in a foreign country?

Thanks for the link. Very interesting. I wonder if we’ll ever know the real reason he was denied. You know the press isn’t going to report it.

"Or it’s just that Trump hates the Welsh."

Blackadder: Have you ever been to Wales, Baldrick?

Baldrick: No, but I've often thought I'd like to.

Blackadder: Well, don't, it's a ghastly place. Huge gangs of tough sinewy men roam the valleys terrorizing people with their close-harmony singing. You need half a pint of phlegm in your throat just to pronounce the place-names. Never ask for directions in Wales, Baldrick, you'll be washing spit out of your hair for a fortnight.

Guy with the same last name:

Mohammed Abdal Miah jailed for urging others to join Isis

Two other guys with the same last name:

Nursery school teacher's two sons slipped out of Britain to join ISIS and one may already have died in battle: Khayerul Miah, 21, and brother Thahirul, 23, fled to Syria earlier this year

Another guy with the same last name:

Parents of Muslim fanatic who died in Syria after bragging about his ‘5-star jihad’ are released on bail after arrest on suspicion of Syria related terror offences

It must be a very common last name.
