Alinsky's forth rule is "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules."

That rule contains an implicit — but obvious — second phrase, which is "while you ignore them."

Yeah, but I’d take it one step further: You have to have rules to live up to.

If the left has no standards, then they don’t ever need to worry about meeting them.

It’s no wonder they revere Simone de Beauvoir and one of her inspirations, the Marquis de Sade.
