A Yale student group has waged a war on the university fraternities and will use Title IX to force them into admitting womenwhile letting female-only sororities off the hook.
Engender, a group led by students of Yale, claims it will lobby the universityciting Title IX, which prohibits discrimination based on gender, and internal Yale policies against discriminationto issue sanctions against male-only fraternities.
Will McGrew, a co-director of the organization, told Yale News that its a logical next step to approach the Yale administration because all of these organizations fall under the purview of Yale legally, either because they are registered as Yale organizations or it is literally all Yale students that constitute them.
The groups co-directors also said that allowing only men to join fraternities is a form of sex discrimination and the university has a responsibility to address the issue as it falls under the Title IX and Yales policies about gender discrimination.
Interestingly, the group doesnt have an official position when it comes to female-only sororities. McGrew explained this by suggesting that unlike fraternities, exclusively female groups are intimate associations and dont affect social trends at the university in the same manner.
The student effort to target fraternities, however, might ultimately fail. According to the Department of Justice Title IX manual, Title IX exemptions include the membership policies of certain university-based social fraternities and sororities.
They’ve got to get past the pledge selection process, don’t they?
Otherwise there’s no sense of exclusivity. For the women, it sounds like first come, first serve. (maybe a pun in there)
IMO they need to deep six every school program that starts with the word “Title”.
I thought fraternities were private organizations ?
If so, how is any of what these people want to do legal ?
What upperclassman wouldn’t like to hear:
“Thank you sir, may I have another?”
I wonder how many lesbians make it through the pledge process at Alpha Phi or Kappa Alpha Theta?
LOL!
Well since bi-sexuality seems to be the “in” thing probably a lot.
I’m pretty sure Title IX has an exemption for social fraternities and sororities. I was in college when that passed and it forced our business fraternity (which had been all male) to recruit females. Social frat’s were not affected.
Well, both of them are sororities at Yale, and neither of them is listed on the Wikipedia page of LGBT- and LGBT-friendly fraternities and sororities.
Don’t ask don’t tell.
My brother in law calls them “ I ate a phi”
OH they are definitely not bored. These people are on a mission from their atheist god to remake the world.
They see injustice everywhere and particularly where men congregate. Men are the root of all evil and must be subjugated to women who are the fount of good and justice.
Men must be relegated to a subservient class; to be seen and not heard. If possible men should become extinct and humans should be reproduced asexually.
This is the feminist motto; Utopia can only be achieved when men cease to exist.
Simply sue to force sororities to allow men.
Except when those men are Muslims.

The war on men ends with the the invention of practical humanoid female robots.
Since it’s Yale they can simply require all the members of fraternities to become trans-gender and the problem will be solved.
Pontiac, can I rub your feet?
Pontiac, how do you want your steak tonight?
Pontiac, can I give you a bubble bath?
Pontiac, youre so hot I want you right now!
Later; Pontiac, can I bring you a scotch on the rocks and a cigar?
I think it just might kill me. We better not. ;)
nope. either both are treated equally or none are.
they dont get to make exceptions to their demands for everyone else.
title 9 did not require women on mens teams. it requires separate teams for the same sports. they already have this now, sororities are the equivalent of female teams.
idiot argument rejected.
