Earlier this week, Wegmans became the latest company to face a backlash for carrying Trump-owned products. The supermarket chain sells five different Trump Winery wines at its ten stores in Virginia, where the vineyard is located, and a local chapter of the National Organization for Women called on its notoriously loyal fanbase to boycott Wegmans unless it agreed to remove the products from stores statewide. The company responded that it bases inventory solely on how well [a product] sells, and welcomed shoppers to demonstrate their convictions. Seeing that as an encouraging sign, a group called Stop Trump Wine materialized with a Twitter account and website, where visitors could pledge support, and news stories reported angry people were vowing to shop elsewhere. Boycotters probably felt things were looking pretty good.
Unfortunately for them, Trump supporters have fired back, and its not a pretty sight. As the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports today:
A boycott of Trump Winery products at Wegmans has caused just the opposite effect: Five of the wine varieties have sold out at the two Richmond-area Wegmans stores.

Lol. Trump probably did not plan it that way for his brand, but imagine that! People used to see Trump brand equally with illegals hiring California wineries, but now no more!
Trumpers boycotting wines and instead buying Trump wine is the result.
The fiendish California big businesses pushing for illegal aliens coming in are going to get hammered and people will find alternative products in Trump products! This is like much better opportunity than Sam Walton’s.
We need a warehouse to contain all the winning.
...another rat slush fund. Probably a lot of
Democrats like the taste of the wine too...
I hope my local Wegmans in Massachusetts carries Trump wine.
Silly loony leftists, whatever they say to do, real Americans do the opposite.
Unless I missed something, how did you come to the conclusion that California wineries were going to be boycotted? Because of 10 Wegmans? It’s GREAT news and I’m happy but just wondering how you made that leap.
Plus I only buy Italian wines anyway.
Wine isn’t something you buy/don’t buy based on a name.
Unless one doesn’t know wine :)

The correct response to the leftist bullies.
As far as Italian wines as a choice? That's fine. Buying imports that are something unique to that country, as long as they have fair labor practices, is a responsible choice. If the purpose of that product being imported is to undercut US workers, it's an unethical purchase.
So, yeah my wool sweaters are from Ireland and England. Silk and tea can come from China. etc. But US flags and Christmas cards (etc) made in China? That's disloyal to our nation.
The Grania Doctrine spelled out. <^..^>
PS: President Trump isn't running the family businesses now. But I hope the kids get on board and manufacture everything possible in the US.
The left will not be happy until they BANKRUPT anything and everything that is Trump!! They LOVE to DESTROY people.
lol! LOVE it! :D
It’s just so wrong to destroy people & their livelihood. They are vicious, cruel & evil people.
Wow. My first wine snob. On FR of all places.
“Wine isnt something you buy/dont buy based on a name.
Unless one doesnt know wine”
After decades of eating (and preparing) hot spicy foods in and around SE Asia and the Western Pacific, I can attest that my taste buds are not anything close to what they used to be. In essence... good wine is wasted on my tattered palate. A sad testament, indeed.
But I am delighted to report that I have uncorked some very good wines, let them sit properly and have produced some outstandingly complex vinegar’s!
We need a really big league warehouse to store all the winning. Huge.
Good morning - what are your recommendations? I'm a 'full body, don't hold anything back, yeehaw!' wine drinker.
Which is why I primarily drink tequila, but I want to explore Italian wines. :)
do you know 2 buck chuck 2013 cabernet is pretty darned good?
The first wine I ever drank was at age four, home made, dago red, made by the old folks that came over on the boat.
The old man had many 55 gallon barrels stored in the cold room, and it was a regular staple at every meal, including breakfast.
He would use wine in his black coffee in lieu of cream or sugar.
As I grew older, my taste memories led me to drink Chianti and it comes from Tuscany.
I'm not a wine snob, as I drink very little wine, but when I do... {less than $35/bottle}
Wal-Mart's $2.98 a bottle .
Upstate ping.
