No. Not at all. In fact, FWIW, the voting system in Germany is *very* robust against *non-citizens* voting. Unlike some other countries that come to mind...go peddle your fake news somewhere else...
Presently, ONLY German citizens can vote in the election. There is a provisional ballot for visa-holding non-citizens to vote for a representative in the Bundestag (to be their “voice”).
There is a fair amount of discussion to open up voting to all non-Germans who hold a visa (this would include Greek, Serbian, French, American, Syrian, etc...groups). At the heart of the matter is the fact that all hold a visa and work permit...thus are taxed, and they should have some say on taxes and laws.
If you add up visa-carrying foreigners in Germany...it’s fairly near 7-million out of the 82-million in the country....and likely to edge upwards to 8-million over the next five years. Trying to pick which party they might fixate upon? Nearly impossible. Too many aspects to the different nationalities. Just on Americans alone....there’s around 115,000 Americans here (non-military related). Around 120,000 Chinese who are mostly college students.
