As a non-politician he performed incredibly. He even joked about that, noting with a start and a smirk, “Oh, right, I’m a politician now.”
George Washington wasn’t a politician either, he was a statesman . . . and that is exactly what Donald Trump is.
It’s becoming clearer, at least to me, that the universe that is set up vs. Trump — Dems of all stripes, the entire left, the media, academia, the film, music and fashion industries, the lobbyists, and the think tanks right and left — not only despise his politics (and supporters), they want to send a very clear message that non-politicians, especially one who is a self-made billionaire, cannot and will not succeed in the nation’s highest office. They need to have someone who can be bought lock, stock and barrel.
