Facebook began as a novelty, actually a sexist novelty, for Zuckerberg, Saverin, McCollum, Moskovitz, and interestingly...Hughes.
Facebook has become increasingly intrusive and damaging over the years, what with their relentless datamining.

It is so pervasive that I would support legislation compelling FB to have a simple "full-lockdown" feature for users, as well as a "full-delete" for people who wish to entirely opt-out with no traces left behind.
The amount of data that unsuspecting and non-savvy folks post is remarkable.
