Pleased to EAT you: World map of man-eaters reveals where cannibalism STILL exists today

The bloodthirsty "cannibal" - this week found dead in his prison cell - is thought to have feasted on the RIB of his victim, PC Gordon Semple.

But Brizzi is not the only modern day man-eater – here, we reveal the locations where cannibalism remains alive and well.

NORTH KOREA

Kim Jong-un's brutal regime has forced people to take desperate measures as drought and famine grips the Hermit Kingdom.

While the crackpot dictator blows billions on nukes and splashes out on luxury food and wine, his citizens have resorted to eating their own KIDS after being "driven mad by hunger", it is claimed.

One starving dad was executed in 2013 after reportedly killing his daughter for food, before murdering his son after he witnessed the brutal slaying.

And cannibalism is also believed to be rampant in the country's barbaric prison camps.

Kim's grandad is said to have enjoyed DOG MEAT every day, according to shock CIA claims.

NIGERIA

A restaurant was shut down by horrified cops who apparently discovered roasted human HEAD was on the menu.

Stunned police arrested 11 people after allegedly finding two human skulls carefully preserved and wrapped in cellophane at an eatery in Anambra, Nigeria.

The macabre "meat" was being sold as a pricey exotic "treat", according to reports in 2014.

One pastor reportedly told a tabloid newspaper about the revolting discovery: "I did not know it was human meat that I ate at such an expensive price," adding:

"Can you imagine people selling human flesh as meat? Seriously I'm beginning to fear people in this part of the world."

BRAZIL

Brazil's own "Sweeney Todd" was caged for 23 years after baking female victims into traditional empanada meat pies.

Satanic serial killer Jorge Beltrao Negromonte murdered one young mum in front for her daughter – then fed his victim to her toddler son.

The self-confessed cannibal plotted with his wife and mistress to snatch unsuspecting women before chopping them up and eating them.

And the bloodthirsty butcher also sold the pastries to oblivious neighbours in Pernambuco, north east Brazil.

One year after being locked up, Negromonte reportedly revealed in 2015: "Human meat, for me, is no different to beef.

"It has the same taste and the same succulent consistency.

"It isn't any more delicious than beef, nor is it less delicious," he told Mail Online.

A "cannibal frat boy" allegedly bludgeoned a random couple to death before sinking his teeth into the male victim's FACE.

Austin Harouff is said to have spat out a chunk of flesh after being pinned down by cops – before admitting it was "human".

Officers told how they found Harouff, then 19, growling like an animal while feasting victim John Stevens last November.

He refused to let go – even when cops used an electric stun gun – and only released his grip after being attacked by a police dog.

It was initially believed the carnage was sparked by bath salts or flakka – although no traces could be found in the student's system.

Florida hit the headlines four years earlier after cannibal Rudy Eugene – dubbed the "Miami Zombie" – beat homeless Ronald Poppo within an inch of his life before gnawing at his face, including his left eye, leaving him permanently blind and horrifically disfigured.

Ronald told reporters: "(Eugene) chewed up my face. He plucked out my eyes... and that’s basically all there is to say about it.”

But a year after his horror ordeal he revealed how he was "living happily".

PAPUA NEW GUINEA

Cannibalism has been reported on the Pacific island of Papua New Guinea as recently as 2012.

Almost 30 alleged man-eaters were charged with being members of a bloodthirsty cult who murdered seven "witch doctors".

The suspects were accused of eating their victims' brains RAW and making soup out of their penises in a bizarre bid to transfer their supernatural powers and become "bullet proof".

In the same year Brit tourist Matthew Iovane and American girlfriend Michelle Clemens told how they were kidnapped, stripped beaten and blindfolded by "cannibal" jungle tribesmen in Papua.

FRENCH POLYNESIA

A German tourist is believed to have been eaten by an alleged cannibal after he went missing on the remote tropical paradise Island Nuku Hiva.

Cops searching for Stefan Ramin raised the alarm after finding charred human remains and clothes close to an abandoned camp fire.

Tour guide Arihano Haiti was found guilty of his killing and jailed for 28 years in 2014.

But outraged islanders denied the practice was widespread, insisting: "We prefer hot dogs to people."

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO

Violent thugs stoned a man to death before burning and eating him in the belief he was part of a Ugandan Islamist rebel group operating in the DRC, according to 2014 reports.

In 2003 UN officials probed grisly claims that cannibal Congolese rebels from the Ituri province were capturing and butchering pygmies before feeding on their sexual organs.

And victims were also forced to eat the remains of their colleagues, it was alleged.

UGANDA

Four men were reportedly caught red-handed boiling a human head in the tiny village of Kiboga last November.

The gruesome news comes as Dominic Ongwen, a former commander of the notorious Lord's Resistance Army, faces trial at The Hague for allegedly ordering his men to kill, cook and eat civilians.

Ongwen, a former child soldier who rose through the ranks of Joseph Kony's infamous Ugandan rebel faction, denies war crimes and insists he was a victim of the atrocities.

LIBERIA

Former Liberian warlord Joshua Milton Blahyi – aka General Butt Naked – reportedly admitted using human sacrifice and cannibalism in Liberia during the 90s to gain magical powers.

Blahyi – dubbed the most evil man in the world, who charged into battle completely starkers - revealed how he claimed 20,000 lives in his ruthless quest for blood.

The reformed rebel commander - who has since turned to Christ and become a pastor – revealed how he ripped out and ate children's HEARTS in a 2008 interview.

Meanwhile former Liberian President Charles Taylor was jailed for war crimes in 2011 after being accused of ordering troops to consume the flesh of enemies and UN soldiers during warfare with Sierra Leone.

One prosecution witness testified how they slit victims' throats and butchered them, adding: "(we) throw away the head, take the flesh ad put it in the pot… Charles Taylor knows that."

Cannibalism and ritual sacrifice is said to continue to cast a shadow over the country.

CAMBODIA

Troops fighting in the savage Khmer Rouge regime during the 1970s reportedly cut out prisoners livers before cooking and eating them.

And survivors of the sickening "Killing Fields" genocide – which claimed the lives of up to 2million people – claim soldiers drank wine infused with human organs.

One former captive reportedly revealed: "Whenever there were killings the guards would drink wine with a gall bladder.

"I could see gall bladders drying in the sun and I knew these were from human beings."

Henchmen are said to have believed the stomach-churning practice would transfer their enemy's power and "boost their courage" to carry out further bloodshed.

Cannibalism was said to be rampant during the 60s and 70s and anyone caught indulging now faces execution.

COLCHESTER, ENGLAND

Punk rocker Dave Playpenz hit the headlines when he cooked and ate his own finger after losing it in a motorbike accident.

Dave decided to boil his digit in salt water after it was amputated by docs in a bid to satisfy his curiosity about the taste of human flesh.

He revealed: "I'd always wondered what human flesh tastes like, but it's taboo.

"People can't go round being cannibals, it's illegal.

"Only then, it occurred to me that no one could haul me to court for eating my own flesh."

And he kept the bones as a souvenir.

Dave told love it! magazine: "I decided not to fry or roast the finger as that would damage (the bones).

"I didn't have a sauce or drink wine with it as I wanted to know what the real taste was."

Thankfully it does not appear to be a widespread practice across Britain.

The Mayans had been eating their people for eons. Then the Spaniards came along and introduced the heathens to Paella.

Cannabalism was widespread before Christianity and Western Civilization stopped most of it. The Aztecs and other tribes in Mexico practiced cannabalism. The best (and only) first hand account is related in The Conquest of Mexico by Bernal Diaz. It is the best history book that I have read.

Endocannibalism

Supposing one gains spiritual life by literally eating human flesh and blood is akin to pagan endocannibalism, and is not Scriptural.

Alpers and Lindenbaum’s research conclusively demonstrated that kuru [neurological disorder] spread easily and rapidly in the Fore people due to their endocannibalistic funeral practices, in which relatives consumed the bodies of the deceased to return the “life force” of the deceased to the hamlet, a Fore societal subunit. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuru_%...9#Transmission

The controversial "Golden Bough" by Sir James George Frazer (1854–1941) reports (regardless of some of his conclusions):

The custom of eating bread sacramentally as the body of a god was practised by the Aztecs before the discovery and conquest of Mexico by the Spaniards."

The May ceremony is thus described by the historian Acosta: “The Mexicans in the month of May made their principal feast to their god Vitzilipuztli, and two days before this feast, the virgins whereof I have spoken (the which were shut up and secluded in the same temple and were as it were religious women) did mingle a quantity of the seed of beets with roasted maize, and then they did mould it with honey, making an idol...all the virgins came out of their convent, bringing pieces of paste compounded of beets and roasted maize, which was of the same paste whereof their idol was made and compounded, and they were of the fashion of great bones. They delivered them to the young men, who carried them up and laid them at the idol’s feet, wherewith they filled the whole place that it could receive no more. They called these morsels of paste the flesh and bones of Vitzilipuztli.

...then putting themselves in order about those morsels and pieces of paste, they used certain ceremonies with singing and dancing. By means whereof they were blessed and consecrated for the flesh and bones of this idol. This ceremony and blessing (whereby they were taken for the flesh and bones of the idol) being ended, they honoured those pieces in the same sort as their god....then putting themselves in order about those morsels and pieces of paste, they used certain ceremonies with singing and dancing. By means whereof they were blessed and consecrated for the flesh and bones of this idol. This ceremony and blessing (whereby they were taken for the flesh and bones of the idol) being ended, they honoured those pieces in the same sort as their god...

And this should be eaten at the point of day, and they should drink no water nor any other thing till after noon: they held it for an ill sign, yea, for sacrilege to do the contrary:...and then they gave them to the people in manner of a communion, beginning with the greater, and continuing unto the rest, both men, women, and little children, who received it with such tears, fear, and reverence as it was an admirable thing, saying that they did eat the flesh and bones of God, where-with they were grieved. Such as had any sick folks demanded thereof for them, and carried it with great reverence and veneration.”

...They believed that by consecrating bread their priests could turn it into the very body of their god, so that all who thereupon partook of the consecrated bread entered into a mystic communion with the deity by receiving a portion of his divine substance into themselves.

The doctrine of transubstantiation, or the magical conversion of bread into flesh, was also familiar to the Aryans of ancient India long before the spread and even the rise of Christianity. The Brahmans taught that the rice-cakes offered in sacrifice were substitutes for human beings, and that they were actually converted into the real bodies of men by the manipulation of the priest.

...At the festival of the winter solstice in December the Aztecs killed their god Huitzilopochtli in effigy first and ate him afterwards. - http://www.bartleby.com/196/121.html

There are some differences, but these have more in common with the Catholic idea of the Eucharist than anything seen in Scripture interpretive of the words of the last supper. More by God's grace.

PAPUA NEW GUINEA

They have a history of it. It would be more accurate to say *it's back on the rise*.

It's not like it's anything new there.

The Peace Child by Don Richardson documents that. An excellent read.

I was in Papua New Guinea in 1995. The locals would “joke” about us white guys as “long pig”. I said - oh - because we have pink skin? “No - because you taste like pig. At least that is what our elders say.”

Yes - I think they still do it today in some parts. Some of those tribes were still stone age just 70 years ago.

I was at a mining site. At one of the trails leaving the mine, and climbing into the rocky, wet, and sometimes snowy mountains there was a big pile of rubber boots and hard hats and clothing. “They make us wear boots at the mine - but they hurt our feet!”

There was somebody famous that went missing in Papua New Guinea on a boat iirc, in the 1960’s??? A Rockefeller maybe?? Rumored that he may have been eaten by cannibals.

I don't think I could do that.

A Rockefeller would be too rich for me!
