WV because you fight to your death for your brothers and cousins.

And everyone is a brother or cousin.

I posted the state names.

It doesn’t go into detail about -how- they’d survive; just general stuff as to which states.

It’s amusing to contemplate SJW types from the large urban areas encountering interstate truckers in flyover country for the first time, they’d have to pull off to cry. Here, they light their grilles with any number of triggering things. Confederate flags, giant crosses, you name it. Covenant Transport alone would send them into a tailspin.

OK out of the list that I posted up from the article, they’d have to split the States between red & blue zones.

Ah. In other words, they are just daydreaming. :)

Wasted time on this scenario. It might be a race war or many states vs the few lunatic left states but not every state vs each other.

California would politically disintegrate... the coastal Elites would never hold the Central Valley or Inland Empire. California Unity is an illusion

Two references to Fallout on this thread. I tip my hat to you.

Here are the states that held the greatest strategic value from day one. They have the ability to be self-sufficient, economic strength, military strength, the will to fight and the population to support a powerful war machine.

California - self-sufficient, will to fight? Perhaps in the rural areas, but they'll be engaged in civil war with the coastal regions.

Texas - I'll admit my bias, but it's a bad move to "mess with Texas". Self-sufficient, plenty of natural resources, our own electric grid, unmatched will to fight, multiple military bases throughout the state.

New York - similar to CA.

California lacks sufficient water.

Texas generally lacks natural features that would assist defense. Look how easily Patton was able to cross from Louisiana, move up through Texas, and attack back toward Shreveport in 1941.

I’d personally opt for an area encompassing North Georgia, Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and West Virginia.

California? New-flash - for the most part, those military bases are home to FEDERAL troops.

I seriously doubt that the Marines and their commanders at Pendleton, 29 Stumps, El Torro (still active?), etc. would shed a tear - much less their own blood to defend CA against the rest of the states.

I was referring to the Fallout video game series, which pretty much covers this scenario in some ways.

Alliances would be formed. No one state at war on it’s own.
