Dumb scenario. It would be the South and Mid Wet against ht NE and west coast.

I dunno, what is the MOS for cannon fodder? I think that’s what the post meant.

I’m not gonna read this, but how in blazes do they say that NY is self-sufficient?

Rural NY would likely not be able to grow enough food for the gargantuan population of NYC—particularly staples like wheat. Plus they don’t like NYC anyway there. If NYC spilled out of the city and seized control of the rural areas, wouldn’t they face resistance, and wouldn’t that kill productivity for a season at the very least? Maybe he’s assuming that NYC could trade by ship with other nations?

I’m voting for the home team. A lot of guns and a lot of rednecks, but most importantly, we’ve got oil AND the refineries. I think that would be our ace in the hole.

Had the honor of working with the Kentucky National Guard in Iraq. Every one of those boys and girls could knock an eye out of a bird flying with their weapons. My money is on them!

Actually, the Northeast would be ripped apart by civil war. Here in Pennsylvania especially.

Relying upon state borders to determine such a thing leads to erroneous conclusions. In my mind, there is no doubt that the last redoubt, in the east at least, would be southern Appalachia, which runs across sections of eight states, including the western third of NC and the eastern third of TN.

Don’t know why my replies are coming out in rhyme today, lol.

You also have a large fifth column that will be very upset if the EBT cards don’t work.

Good morning. Hope you are well.

“Sounds vaguely familiar....” to Laz and KC.

Were you referencing the invasion of Canada we were planning years ago?

Wow, that was 17 yrs ago.

Business Insider is a usually leftist publication, I believe centered in New York City. Anything they publish needs to be read with that in mind.

Apparently you’ve never been to Western NY, Southern Tier, etc. NY City might surrender in less than a week, but Western NY where I grew up is much like Tennessee where I live now.

Last time we drove our rental car out of the Buffalo Airport headed south, the truck in front of us was sporting a very large Confederate Flag. Most of the radio stations are country-western. EVERYONE has guns!

Which AMARK also has a lot of, ostensibly to ship the planes out, but it’s there.

This should be a tv series. If anyone watched Jericho or Revoution you know this could be a very interesting show. If done right of course.

Interesting thought experiment, but I did not see where the role of foreign powers was accounted for.

Civil War 2 / Revolution 2 could easily become World War 3. US dollar is the world’s reserve currency. The world’s economy and security revolve around the US. Impossible for other nations to not get involved.

Georgia and Washington are the states with nuclear missile sub ports...the President who resides in DC has the missile codes, but I suspect he favors NY.
